Paris Pros and Cons

Yeah Paris. Gets lots of hate just about every where. What does your boy think? See here.

Pros

Smoking culture – no one is giving you side eye for sparking a grit as they would in lesser cities like Los Scandalous. Hell, even New York City is turning in to No Smoke City.

Fly girl culture – Paris has the Fly Girl culture. Run around in circles long enough and you will catch all the regular socialite this and that which makes up the upper crust of the world jet set crew. The girls know how to fit themselves. Just know where to look for this and it’s there.

Arts culture – nothing like kicking back out front some old building or garden or cemetery with a chick and a bottle of Cotês du Rhône and talking through life and death.

Party culture – Paris works hard and plays hard. Dawn comes around and the party is still going on and then there is still the day party to go to. 2-3 day benders are not unheard of.

Drug culture – Trees, snow, Pills, etc. Get at it if that’s your thing.

Mass transit culture – Le Metro. Enough said.

Food culture – yeah post up at any which spot on the street and get a good meal. Or hit any of the high end spots in any hood and have the chef whip you up the menu of the day. If it’s got a chalkboard it’s workable.

Foreign culture – Paris is the most visited city in the world. Foreign is nothing new to them. And it attracts the fly foreign chicks to live, work and play in the same way NYC does.

Cons

Except for the tourists getting taken for their change in Monte… non I can think of.

Don’t believe the hype. Get out there.

Los Scandalous Q&A

Recently the homie wrote in asking  about my experiences in Los Scandalous which was a major forming group for the Young and Upcoming Caesar. The west coast is amazing to spend some time so of course I broke it all down for him.

Here’s how I wrote back.

X Wrote:1. Is it as dope or as bad as some make it seem? Especially in terms of being a brother out there. My main pull to go there is lots to do, also high quality of women.

Don’t listen to the haters LA is great, especially for well off brothers that have their fundamentals down (i.e. can go out and spit and know how to get in with a good nightlife scene in a city)

Pros

Diversity of sistas and other women, lots of first generation girls from africa and middle east and europe. You can find pretty much any type of woman in LA. for sistas you’ve got everything from hood ratchet girls to upper crust african princess chicks from the hills. seriously though like in ATL there are some really wealthy black families and girls out here can come from old money. Also lots of first generation girls who have money back in Africa. Also you can get your hood chick fix if you want as like ATL there are those areas and also just your regular middle of the road black girl is around in spades.

Beach life, mountain life, outdoors, fit people. People are in to fitness and outdoor stuff if you like that. lots of scenes around beach things. i.e. surfer babes and other venice type boardwalk alt chicks that skate if you’re in to that.

Sun and climate – basically nice year around, never rains, LA is not super smoggy any more except certain times of year when you get no weather at all. Very very occasionally super hot but usually amazing weather. Note: people will list this as their favorite thing but that’s because they don’t get out much.

Pockets of neighborhoods – most people would list this as a con but really it’s good because you can own your hood if you want and also don’t have to worry too much about running in to the same crowd if you go cross town. i.e. you can run girls in different areas with little mess.

Good high-end and low-end scenes. you can get out to major upper high life spots where basically you run in to celebs on chilling in vip as a regular thing. if you’re in that scene then it’s not rare to run in to any A lister, lots of B-D list celebs and then you have basically all the extras in the entertainment industry out there. On the low end you’ve got all kinds of underground scenes from all your usual rave EDM stuff to house party stuff. lots of connector dudes out here that are good to know.

Also in general California is an amazing place lots to do that is close and LA is main hub for travel in California. i.e only a few hours car or plane away from the Bay – 1 hr plane, Vegas – 1 hr plane , San Diego/Tijuana – 2 hr drive and lots of sights and scenes – malibu – 30 minutes from LA with amazing beach – Big Bear and other mountain sports type stuff which is good in summer and winter etc etc.

Cons

Some guys get discouraged by this but I tend to like it so I list it as a Con here:

All the entertainment and celeb comes with all the hangers on so lots of princess girls that are on the take or have ballers and what not in their phones. this isn’t a big deal if you have Game but basically LA is actually SMALL as far as the scenes go. like I said, if you’re in certain scenes you will run in to name branded people and lots of lower list types so it is not rare to be “competing” against these kinds of guys. with Game it’s easy enough to get in and be on the same side so to speak and a lot of these dudes are mad chill and many don’t have that much Game and appreciate you tossing them a few girls. This is also why guys complain because you can not get away with flashing cash in LA because the high-end girls already have private jet dudes hanging on to them.

LA trends towards the superficial so even though people are nice you will meet A LOT of folks who are basically glamour head shot versions of themselves and not REAL people. I don’t know how else to explain it but there isn’t really another town where you can run in to people that basically treat their life like Reality TV as well as actually run in to the Reality TV crews in real life filming at the Grove. There are plenty of dope people in LA to be sure and certain scenes are better than others but the superficial LA stereotype is there for a reason.

It is not a huge deal if you are trying to hang out there for a bit but it is never a place that I considered staying in long term even though I came up there, I had always knew I was going to leave and I don’t plan on going back to live.

X Wrote:2.Is it possible to live in a decent area, nothing too fancy, for under 2k a month?

If you are talking 2k to spend on rent then you will be good and can get set up with a decent to nice spot in pretty much any area of the city – with some caveats. It’s better to start looking sooner than later. if you’re staying downtown then you should be good with that to get a 1br if you shop around. I would recommend staying DTLA, but if you wanted to be on the west side you could probably find something in west Hollywood or even Santa Monica for that, also Sliverlake and Echo Park area which is closer to Downtown. you could get a nice nice spot if you go out to the burbs a bit but I don’t recommend that if you want chicks you want to be centered on easy access to going out to your favorite spots.

X Wrote:3. How’s the racism out there compared to the south?

Not bad really. There is a bit of a divide between where everyone lives (i.e. rich white folks live in certain areas of the hills vs the rich black folks). People are generally chill with that stuff as it is pretty diverse otherwise though and you’ve got all different types up and down the social scale. I don’t worry about this in LA other than getting stopped by the cops but have always found brothas to be the WORST when it comes to LAPD go figure.

X Wrote:4. What’s your experience been gaming other races as a brother?

I never had any issues my crew never had any issues either. My njia homie cleans up with the white chicks out there. I always cleaned up with white girls and others. LA is very diverse and people are generally down even between groups outside some very specific niche like Jewish-American Princesses or upper crust Persian girls (though you can get plenty of both if you know what you’re doing).

X Wrote:5. I heard there is public transit, how accessible is it?

You can use transit to get to and from work assuming you live and work close enough to the main lines. don’t get the bus, you gotta be on the main tram line if you want to make that stuff work. public transit as a whole is pretty shit in LA though other cities like ATL is not much better and more or less comparable. It is getting better but still not great in LA for that stuff. If you don’t have a car you won’t really need to go anywhere except downtown to go out as the scene there is good and you can always Uber to go out on the west side which is what you do anyway even if you have a car.

X Wrote:when I  go out, i’d like to be hitting on stunners but I heard LA has plenty of them.

Yeah man you should do fine.

I ran all around that scene for a long time so def hit me with any other questions you have.

Rhetorical Questions

I’ve been seeing a lot of some basic questions recently.

A good example.

Where to find all the fine sistas?

The thing really is knowing where to look. A lot of these questions are followed up in a way that shows who has table stakes. Not having been to Africa, is one of the good ways to still have questions about where to find fine chicks with melanin.

The old excuses were that it was far and exotic and didn’t have paved roads. Unfortunately everyone who wrote those books has been dead since the 80s, and the continent is nothing like you see on TV.

Put it this way, I sent my boy some pictures of recent escapades. And he was asking me if I was in the A.

Outside of appearance the girls are way off though. There is a little something called personality. Even though you’re not sure if she’s going to ask you for money half way in to bed. Keeps things from being boring at least.

Anyway, those who are interested can figure it out easily enough. It’s not that hard, but apparently talking about it on the internet is a bit taboo. At least, I couldn’t find much info about the low down until yours truly put it up for public consumption.

Tempted

The girls in Ghana are thick in all of the right places. I had been enjoying the lithe girls of the surrounding Francophone countries but now was a time to indulge.

The driver had recommended an area in Osu where he said a good drink and some fly girls could be found. Somehow we had gotten on the topic of Dancers. He wasn’t big on the local populations abilities. His advice had been to go to the club. For the fine girls, more money was to be had there than up on stage.

I wanted a drink and some female company regardless, and it was late enough that I was open to persuasion. He dropped me at the spot and sped off. Inside the music was going and the place was already packed. I had finally gotten the message that stepping out before 2am was counterproductive unless you had an early evening move. By now though, the spot was humming and I hit the room.

My English if anything was rusty. A few weeks working my mouth in a romance language will do that, but the girls were easy going and I chatted up the room as I went to get my drinks.

Eventually there were some that hooked in at the bar. Sort of affiliated group of younger girls. Dressed for a night out on the hunt.

Sometimes, my mind flashes out to the possible futures. They are waiting for me to make a move, but I haven’t decided if I want to try and dodge throwing down some cash. Could be easier to just pay the Cedis. I could have them both for the rest of the night and it wouldn’t put me out the cab fare to get here. I put the thought out of mind for a bit, order another whiskey and keep running my mouth.

Next Time

It’s past the Total and then just follow the road around. I drop this to the taxi driver and he pulls out of the junction. We’re headed up in to the hills of Accra, it’s late and I’m cross faded having just come back from the Center and a beach party that had more than its share of tree floating around by the end of the night.

That seemed to be the way here, and no one said anything when my host sparked up. She came and sat next to me, took her hits and passed the spliff over my way. The waves and music hit the air. I laid back and enjoyed the moment.

Only a few minutes from the spot and a bed and an even later night. The hills of Accra are filled with half-finished McMansions. They sit empty, concrete shells. It looks like the suburbs of Los Angeles are going up in the outskirts of Ghana’s capital city. We roll in to ours and hit the gate. The lights flood the courtyard. I follow her around back and she opens up the back door. Except for us two. There is the offer of mangoes but really it’s just her excuse to get me in to her room and close the door to the empty house.

The taxi driver slowed and flipped on the car lights. Checkpoints. Par for the course at this time of night and on the way in to my hood. He says some stuff in Twi to the driver. Our driver laughs and the cop waves us on.

Osu Days and Nights

Been making major moves so early in the year that I might just have to retire for the rest of 2018 to let the rest of the competition catch up. Of course that’s not our way here, and we’ll be keeping feet on necks for the rest of the year.

In the meantime though, some straight dope from the underground on how to navigate places where you can actually live life to it’s fullest.

Starting with Accra, Ghana.

Osu is the main spot for nightlife, and you’ll find a mix of expats, locals, and other hangers-on out on the town regardless of day or night.

A quick run down of how to make the right moves if you find yourself here:

Hit the Root Apartments and Hotel for a day drink and a good view. The pool area up top opens in the late afternoon. You’ll want to chop it up for a bit in the main restaurant and then make your moves upstairs once things get popping. Small place, but the view is great and you’ll find plenty of people to chat up and do your thing.

Ghana is ganja friendly, so make sure to cop some of that. Just ask around and you can score big for the low.

Chill out in the main area, spark a spliff, make conversation, watch the sunset and wait for the night to turn.

The Shisha Lounge in Osu is a good spot to post up for the dinner time and order some tabac along with your wood-fire pizza. If you are still dry at this point, hit the hotel next door to get whatever you need. Don’t be surprised if you see some cats sparking up in the back area. Like I said, ganja friendly. Keep it to the back cause you don’t want any trouble from the 12, but really it’s a matter of being smart and figuring out who to talk to.

If you’re done with those moves, you can hit Bloom Bar which is a quick jaunt by taxi or foot. Another good rooftop locale where once again you can blaze up without issue.

For nightlife, Firefly will serve you well and keep you occupied until early in the morning with some fly trees and flyer chicks. Notable mention goes to Tea Bar and Blue House.

In Accra there are a lot of working girls especially in Osu because it’s expat Central and girls can make good money there. I was only there for a few days but was running a gambit about my friend in the states who is a working girl but how I like to actually know a chick. Just be chill have some Cali swag mixed with Chocolate City street style and you can clean up without dropping cash.

The girls of Ghana are fine as hell (though there are some other locales in West Africa that I will be dropping soon enough with even better). You’ve got your locals, and also plenty of visitors from the States and England. You’ve got your diaspora chicks who are coming back to get a taste of the homeland. English is all around though the local ones also speak mostly Twi so learn up on some phrases and get an easy in.

Of course melanin is the name of the game, and you’ve got to be down with that. Though there were some fly Arab expats and some white chicks to be had on the down low, no one is trying to mess with that when you’ve got fine sistas turning heads at every corner. Get in your shades and enjoy.

I played the hand laid out above and cleaned up, so bring the heat and you’ll do just fine.

Nightmare on U Street

It’s a crisp fall night and I roll out the subway stop and hit the street sparking up. It’s my favorite time of year in Chocolate City. I’m sharp, the air is sharp I yell out to no one in particular “I’m young and pretty and bout to make a million dollars.”

Dinner at Zaytinya goes smooth. The deal is about to close and the home stretch is in sight. My words from early are prophecy. Another round for the table and then I will hit the night to celebrate on my own.

Pick up the check and chat up the fox posted at the bar.

See off my clientele and light up another to full enjoy the scent of fall. A vision goes by and we exchange some words, something more about the night ahead calls and I crunch her digits for later.

Order a car and head off in to the night.

Hit U Street like a slug to the chest no vest. Make friends in Lost Society. Drinks are cheap and flow fast. Chop it up with some of the folks. Things are working but I need some more action to get in to.

Bounce out and around the corner to Cloak and Dagger. Make my way around. A group with something I like. The feeling is mutual. Some words to friends about this and that. Hitting the usual keys. Hit some other keys with them in the back.

My mouth is flowing gold.

We bounce out and downstairs. Tropicallia has an easy door. Inside it’s hot and the music is blasting. We find a corner and hit bumps as the place steams up.

Things are getting interesting with my girl. We’ve only exchanged a few words all night, but they are choice. I’ve been playing through the group most of the way. I ask her if she wants to break to burn a spliff. She is game.

We hit the night and the air is cool again.

Tokyo Pros and Cons

Pros

Indoor smokes at clubs and a lot of bars.

Fly shopping districts. High-end and low-end. Copped some good stuff for rolling out backdoors in the early morning on the low.

7am close times. Not everywhere, but plenty of stuff to get in to past sunup.

Zen gardens. Self explanatory for when you need a break from trafficking international.

Fresh fish.

Transit system on point.

Curious locals.

Fine mixed chicks when you can find them. Don’t ask where I found them because I won’t be telling.

Fine locals.

Style and swag. Stole enough ideas to last me through the winter here stateside. Street and business too. The suits the worker drones rock are all good except they’re universally missing a square to round things out. Easy fix. Pinstripes are coming in to my winter wardrobe for sure.

Working girls. Check.

Cons

Can’t think of any.

There was Bad English all around. Which I’m fine with, my Japanese is worse. I’m a quick learner though so I picked up a few phrases. You don’t need any language skills to chop it up if you know what you’re doing.

Look for Tokyo to be back in the headlines soon enough.

Long Lines in Tokyo

In the course of a life well lived, you’re going to reach some points where the only way out is through.

Around this way you know that I’m a heavy advocate of long flights and long lights.

So there is always going to be a case where you wake up to roll off a plane and have to hit the ground running because you’ve switch 6 time zones to land in the middle of a night out with the homies.

This was one of those nights. I had fallen asleep halfway through the flight over after downing a few whiskeys and was just now waking up to a spliff on a rooftop in Roppongi. Needless to say we were rolling hot.

It took me a bit to get my bearings, but nothing a few hits couldn’t fix. I’m just along for the ride on this trip, and delegating all plans to the ground team. The homies have been running here for a minute and have got the city dialed in. One perk of cultivating an international network is that you can drop in to any city and be in the mix without issue.

We head out and hit the night. It’s late but still early goings. Rain from earlier giving the streets neon reflections. Hopping the train, the mix is business and pleasure. You’ve got the suits headed home, and the night crew headed out. Two worlds passing each other briefly in the early night.

Hit the door and get pushed around the line. Up the stairs in Shibuya and we’re in the middle of it all. It’s packed in the spot. Someone hands me a shot and then another. I buy a round, we’re all kicking it and having a good time. Throwing back on old times when we were younger and more reckless.

A minx and her friend roll by and get pulled in to the conversation. They’re with a group over there, we’re with a group over here, eventually everyone is chopping it up and I’m vibing with a shorty. Her English is bad and my Japanese is nonexistent, but we’re making it work. She’s on the edge of bad, but trying to hide it. No fronting with me though and eventually I get that side out of her.

My crew is bout to bounce so I grab her digits and tell her we are headed back to Roppongi. If she ends up that way, she is always welcome to fall through.

It’s later but still early. We fuck around outside the club smoking grits, then hit a late night ramen spot. Our group is on one and the energy is contagious. We pick up some expats and everyone heads out to the next spot. Somehow cop a cab cross city and hop out to head down to the new club. We roll down to the basement and place is packed again. More shots come our way. Host posts us up at a table.

The expat girls wander off and a group of locals replaces them. Everyone wants to know where we are from and what we’re doing here. The question on everyone’s mind is how the gaijin are this connected.

I get the ear of another girl. This time the English is better. She’s seen my side of the world before, open to new experiences. This one is actual trouble and doesn’t hide it.

There are offers of some substance, and the home boy rounds up the crew and the night’s additions and we head back to the spot. We’re in our element at this point. It’s back to old times, everything running together on the glass table top of the apartment.

Shawty from Shibuya hits my line. She’s in the area and wants to know if we’re still out. Not out, but still up. She gets the invite back to the spot. Her and her friend roll through. Nothing going on seems to surprise them, so they get lined up and join in.

People start to drop off. The sun is coming up as the rest of the crew pairs off or dips out to pick up on some pre-work.

Roll another spliff and split it the last line. Then pick up business where it left off.

Atlanta Dead Days

A while back I dropped the ATL Step by Step, which gave you the undoctored dope on a basic night out in the A.

After some more time spent in the City in the Trees (talking both senses of the word), you’re going to want to avoid some nights.

Namely, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Monday, you’ve always got Magic City to fall back on. I’ve been preferring the more low key nights at that joint but you can’t go wrong with that move.

Thursday, you’ve got any of a dozen places popping off and some can get some light work at any dinner spot you’ve got locked before hitting heavier bags out in any district.

Friday and Saturday, same shit just another day. Same spots will pop off just with more cats. Get in with a few promos and staff to skip lines. If you’ve been playing in the Big Leagues then working a door in ATL will be of no issue.

Sunday, after hours spots outside the beltway do nice in the late night.

Basically you can go out any night except Tuesday or Wednesday. Both of those nights are mad wack as far as nightlife is concerned. A few places try to open and get a total of 4 people.

Luckily there is a house party and underground scene that low key goes off during the down days, so you can hold yourself over with that.

The good news for the dead days is that if you’re running a few plays, you can set up a dinner and not expect to run in to anyone checking for you.

Otherwise Tuesday, it’s better to order in and have the off duty you found enjoying the installation last week at Opera come through to give you a back rub.

Wednesday, hit up the home girl you ran in to at Ponce City and grab some dinner close to her spot.
